Joseph sees past his brother's lie to the underlying insecurity and addresses that with mercy and compassion. I think I need to learn not to react to what people say or how they behave without pausing and seeing what is behind it. May God give me wisdom to see peoples underlying needs and grace to address those.

This morning I was at Kings Table for prayer so skipped a study, but I have this week got to the end of Joseph's life. What struck me was at the end he asked for his bones to be taken back "home." Despite all that happened there and his success in Egypt at the end of his life he still had his focus on God's bigger plan. I wonder if my horizons are a bit too limited!?
